If you have a deconstructing tot or two running around your home, eco toy maker ♥ Aroundsquare has just the thing to harness their energy. Their Good Wood Deconstruction blocks are made of sustainable rubberwood and come in plain recycled cardboard packaging with no script, just beautifully crafted pieces of wood for kids to make with as they please.
These clever sets of abstract shapes work wonderfully alone, or with each other, for a super creative play session that doesn’t need batteries; this one’s powered purely by the infinite imagination and curiosity of kids, that is, it’s endless!
Aroundsquare operates as a social enterprise, with at least 30% or profits plowed back into charitable endeavours, plus customers themselves have the option donate one of the sets to a childcare centre in a developing country for a mere $12USD. The companies creator, Mathew Heibert, is an education specialist and consultant who also manages a Canadian government program promoting early childhood education in Egypt.

Yes, I’m double-dipping (I’m with you George), but I couldn’t leave Gallop Lifestyle without mentioning these retro cool wall hangings by Melbourne label ♥ Love.
Made from wood veneer, the nifty self-assembly kits are based on original drawings of Love’s creator, Melbourne artist Geneine Honey, and - in my opinion - are just the bee’s knees!

If you’re as taken with the cute whimsy of Painted Girl (far top) as I, you’ll also adore Love’s necklaces, earrings and brooches, where Painted Girl features, along with an eclectic parade of quirkily cool characters and playful scenes.

These stunning puzzles are worth having purely to admire the Aboriginal art - that the kids will be kept busy trying to piece them back together is an added bonus!

Designed by Aboriginal artist Donna Henson of the Wiradjuri people, each displays a Dreaming story hand screen printed onto sustainably harvested wood. An excellent way to engage and familiarise children with Aboriginal culture, the 12 piece puzzles also include Donna’s interpretation of the Dreaming story and extra notes on the back. Ergo, the kids will be busy both problem solving and learning, which surely is every parents dream!
