Lunchtime Hero

by Raquel on September 9, 2010

hero-organiccottoncanvas-kids-lunch-tote-skullsI happen to think this skullified number is a rockin’ way to pack up lunch; bet there’s a few small pirates around who’d agree!

This fantabulous lunch tote is “Grown and Sewn in the USA” by San Francisco company, Hero Bags, and comes with a custom name tag area, zipper closure and a flat bottom so it stands upright.

They also make a range of shoppers and bottle bags; I’m particularly loving their two bottle bag which just received an honourable mention in the 2010 Annual Design Review for Packaging Design. It’s an excellent eco savvy option for bottle shop purchases, and great to use when going to parties, BYO restaurants, etc.

$14.95 - $24.95USD

Tees To Go Dotty Over

by Raquel on August 9, 2010

Here’s a crazy cool idea that’s going to have your little miss in a complete fizz of excitement .. there’s dressing up, there’s dolls, there’s dressing up dolls and if you combine the whole thing, well then you’ve got a ♥ Lotty Dotty interactive t-shirt!

An inspired new concept, the organic tees are hand screen printed with one of five dolls: Lia, Zoe, Maya, Lola and Mimi, who can be dressed up in an array of interchangeable eco cool outfits.

The Parisian based label was co-founded by two US women, Maya Persaud and Shevanne Helmer, who in a bid to create a socially responsible company dreamed up the unique ‘several tees in one’ concept; a fashionably funky way to get more wear out of our clothes! The detachable mini-collections for the dolls are not only made of leftover or organic fabrics wherever possible, they also serve as a showcase of new design talent: each is handmade by up and coming designers from around the world!

And the fun’s not just for littlies, women’s tees are available too, plus Lotty Dotty have released a special edition tee to raise money for breast cancer research. The Susan G Komen for the Cure® design features a super sweet tennis inspired white dress, accented with pink belt and bow and is on sale until 1st September.

Say hello to Girl with Blue and Purple Dress and Licker (above), two wonderfully imagined characters from a cast of individuals known as Peepwool.

peepwool-upcycled-woollen-dolls3

Entirely handmade, Peepwool is the charming creation of Wisconsin artist and mother of three, Amy Arnold, who transforms discarded materials - needle felting and embroidering then adding character with found objects like lace, buttons and plastic flowers - a process that eventually gives birth to a fabulously animated piece of art and adorable new friend!

From $105
