by Raquel on July 18, 2010

The designers over at ♥ Envirosax have got it sussed when it comes to smart solutions to wasteful habits.

Taking aim at throwaway lunch and takeaway bags, their super chic Minisax is out to replace lunchtime rubbish with a handy, compact alternative that can be used over and over.

Made from Envirosax’s RPET fabric - a mix of 55% flat filament polyester and 45% Repreve® polyester (Repreve® is certifiably made from 100% recycled plastic) - the Minisax it’s fitted with an internal pocket: use it to stow takeaway coffees and when you’re done, fold the sax down into the pocket to be tucked away for next time -  genius, no?

See Below To Win 1 of 2 Go Green Lunch Boxes

Go Green’s BPA free lunch box is sectioned - yep, not only can you ditch the plastic wrap, you don’t have to worry about kids losing loose containers either! - plus the compartments have silicon bands and the whole thing locks shut, ensuring food stays fresh and nothing leaks. Go ahead and pour in some yoghurt, nothing’s getting out of this baby!

The cool lunch kit includes a stainless steel drink bottle that slots neatly within the box, which in turn is packed in a funky insulated carrier: there’s nine styles featuring everything from daisys, to lightning and skulls! Parents will dig the built in mini-whiteboard feature too, great for leaving the kids fun messages or gentle reminders.

The bento style system was created by a US mum, Kim Castner, as a way to eliminate all the waste generated from a typical school lunch. In her daughter’s elementary school, where the lunch kit has enthusiastically been taken up, the lunch time waste has reduced down from a whopping 40 bags of trash a day to just four or five!

There’s a heap of room in the five compartments to pack plenty of fresh food and Go Green’s boxes also come with a name tag, after all this is definitely one you’ll want to hold on to!

The lunch box retails for $49.95AU and there’s two up for grabs!

I‘m rather spoilt for choice when it comes to selecting images from The Craft Pantry’s lovely handmade lunch bags and totes. Retro scooters compete with VW buses, regal peacocks with spirited deers .. all fetchingly printed against recycled cotton canvas, making these reusable bags truly eco friendly.
