Pastel Toys from the Kibbutz

by Raquel on March 3, 2009

These Pastel Toys are delectable looking; I can’t help but think they look like critter cookies, painted in sugary hues that look good enough to eat.  Classically styled with simple mechanisms, these toys demonstrate that having fun doesn’t have to be complicated. All the toys have wheels and are hand made from natural materials treated with lead free, water based paints.

What is particularly special about Pastel Toys is that all the products are made by a small group of developmentally disabled adults in the non-profit community of Kishorit in Western Galilee. The employees live and work in a caring village where they grow organic vegetables and create these beautiful, collectible toys.
